The Fig Tree Console is a tribute to Nature’s graciousness consisting of a green rectangular top propped up on a set of legs. Six, to be precise. The project is about designing what normally would not be designed, producing what normally would not be produced. A plain piece of furniture, almost too obvious to be considered. Doing what the designer likes to do in its most basic form while focusing on quality and precision. Exactly six legs are made from fig tree branches in brass casting mold. The top has exactly two drawers with purpleheart wood veneer lined with a subtle metal rim. A piece of work, pure and simple.
