Furadouro Hotel

— Pedro Sousa Studio

In collaboration with the group that manages the hotel, Pedro designed a small boutique hotel with 27 rooms. The Furadouro project (2011) is a nature-inspired living space in exclusive proximity to the sea.

The Atlantic Ocean brings together the best conditions for a getaway, a few days of vacation or a quiet and restful stay for business.

The project includes extensive public areas. These common areas include a spa, a restaurant, a bar and a fitness center.

This was Pedro’s first project of this magnitude, which gave us the privilege to work in a large scale and face new challenges.

So the entire space was painted white to exalt the different shades of the surrounding landscape, especially the sea - this magnetic element, so present and so powerful that it becomes the center of everything.

The Furadouro Hotel creates serenity and visual impact with soft colors and materials, natural light which comes from the Atlantic Ocean and passes through the huge windows of the building facade and floods of light to the hotel's spaces.

That was the task at hand: to design a hotel that offers a living experience inspired by local flora and fauna.

Designed for smarter living, Furadouro Hotel creates a sense of community and belonging.
